Craig Murray

BBC America is airing a remarkably apt political drama “The State Within” in three parts, dealing with: state-staged terrorism in service to the obscene wedding of American and British foreign policy, servicing expedient corporate profit; using the alleged “war on terror” with private militias to back up repressive regimes, whose atrocities would make Saddam blush. A key character of troubled principle is the British Ambassador to Tyrgyzstan, who has resigned in protest against the appalling policies of Great Britain and America, that must be fully revealed and discredited. The character was clearly based on Craig Murray who resigned his post as British Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and who is Caroline’s guest today to tell us why he resigned, and why we all should care. Ambassador Murray’s book is titled “Murder in Samarkand

Farewell, Blessings and Gratitude Molly Ivins!!!!!

The world is a lonelier stage without you but we accept the baton you pass to us to deepen our dedication to fierce no holding back humor in
service to democracy: and to whom this week’s radio show is dedicated. Her last published words:

“We are the people who run this country. We are the deciders. And every single day, every single one of us needs to step outside and take some action to help stop this war. Raise hell.
Think of something to make the ridiculous look ridiculous. Make our troops know we’re for them and trying to get them out of there. Hit the streets to protest Bush’s proposed surge. If you can, go to the peace march in Washington on Jan. 27. We need people in the streets, banging pots and pans and demanding, “Stop it, now!””

Swanee has been not so much money laundering as money cleansing in her dedication to Women Waging Peace. She joins us directly from receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Boston Chamber of Commerce.

Sacramental plants and ancestral cultures of reverence want to speak with us now to remind us that we each have 125 billion miles of sub-microscopic DNA in our bodies, and only 3% is for genes. Caroline is joined by Graham Hancock, whose latest book, “Supernatural,” is a necessary voice for and from this realm, at this time of dire beauty.
